League City man facing Injury to Child charges

5-1 Cole Gerard ZubeA League City man was arrested Monday, April 14, and charged with First Degree Injury to a Child. His bond was set at $80,000.

On Saturday, April 5, League City EMS responded to a residence in the 2900 block of Ocean Way in League City. The 911 call indicated an infant was choking. The child, a three month old girl, was transported to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, where it was determined that she was suffering from life threatening injuries. She was then transported to Texas Children’s Hospital.

According to League City Police Department Detective Grant, the statement given by the father, Cole Gerard Zube, 22, was inconsistent with the injuries to the infant.  He was arrested in Nassau Bay and charged with First Degree Injury to a Child. At this time, there is no other information is available regarding the infant’s condition.

First Degree Injury to a Child is committed when a person intentionally and knowingly causes a child serious bodily injury or serious mental deficiency, impairment or injury. The punishment for a First Degree Felony is 5-99 years with a maximum fine of $10,000.
