Lewis Jewelers hosts festival sponsor party

Cindy and Slade Lewis, owners of Lewis Jewelers, hosted more than 200 guests for the Lunar Rendezvous Festival’s annual Sponsor Appreciation Party June 24 to thank its many sponsors as it celebrates its 50th anniversary this summer.

Advisory Board Chairman Jill Williams and Corporate Sponsor Chairman Jenny McCorkle, greeted guests on arrival as members of the Golden Jubilee Court — Festival Queen Allison Powell, Queen Alternate Demerle Monks and Capt. Jack Mullen — mingled with the crowd.

Also in attendance were former Festival Chairmen and Advisory Board members Kelli Byrd, Terri Dieste, Jill Reason, Karen McCorkle, Kathy and Michael Reeves, Peggy and Jerry Clause, Dawn Kayser, Mary Williams, Mary Ann Shallberg and Gloria and Tom Wong. Several Board of Directors were in attendance including its chairman, Michael Landolt and his wife, Ann Wismer, plus Wendell Wilson and his wife, Pat.

Other festival staff attending included Fun Run Chairman Jay Lee, Fashion Show Co-Chairman Deborah Reichert, Court Co-Chairmen Melanie Lovuola and Kathy Panneton and Publicity Chairman Melissa McKinnie.

Guests enjoyed discussing the upcoming events such as Dining Night at Tommy’s Restaurant Sunday, July 12; the 5K Fun Run at Space Center Houston, July 18; Spa Night at Oasis Medispa July 16; the Sunset Service Sunday, July 19, the Solid Gold Couture Fashion Show Tuesday, July 21; and the festival finale, the Coronation Ball July 25.

Festival General Chairman Jana Miller and Vice Chairman Brandie Corrao presented the details about the Opportunity Drawing for a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Black LT 2WD Crew Cab Truck by Norman Frede Chevrolet. Tickets are $100 and are now available for purchase at Lewis Jewelers and Norman Frede Chevrolet or by contacting Brandie Corrao at 832-830-6110.

The Clear Lake Lunar Rendezvous Festival is dedicated to providing community-based support including scholarships for higher education, youth development and educational programs, funding for the arts and historical preservation in the Bay Area Houston/NASA area.
