The month of August is always hot in Texas but this year, things are heating up even more for area veterans. Ron Carter Hyundai is giving two Houston-based veterans the keys to success – literally. Each of these veterans will receive a key to a Premium Pre-Owned vehicle from the dealership.
You may have been one of the 1.6 million people who watched the dealership run a veteran & military centered contest last month and gave away a brand new car with their “Hug a Hyundai” program. This month, there will be no contest to receive a vehicle since the General Manager, Anthony Hewitt and his team wanted to give back even more to those who served our country. “When we give away something as significant as a car, we knew it would be a life changing event for the recipient”, said Hewitt. He added, “What surprised us was that we began hearing stories of Veteran families in need and felt we had a duty to step up and help.”
One of Ron Carter Hyundai’s goals is to connect veterans and their families with trusted veteran service organizations that offer a plethora of resources to veterans of all branches and eras. The other goal is to provide reliable transportation for two families that may have been affected by a downturn in the economy, a medical issue, domestic violence or a life event.
The dealership has partnered with over twenty veteran service organizations such as Lone Star Veterans Association, Impact a Hero and Easter Seals of Greater Houston to build relationships with the Veterans and to decide which families will be the best choices for the vehicles.
Houston area veterans are encouraged to submit an application through one of the Veteran Service Organizations by August 21, 2017. Applicants will need to show proof of military service (DD214) and agree to the rules and regulations of the program.
Ron Carter Hyundai is known for its commitment to giving back to their community through various programs and campaigns like the Adopt-a-Pet and the Hug-a-Hyundai events. For more information or a complete list of participating Veteran Service Organizations go to Ron Carter Hyundai’s Facebook page.
