Vauthier overpass demolition scheduled from 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2020, through 5:00 a.m., Monday, May 11, 2020. Expect detours and traffic delays.
La Marque, Texas (May 5, 2020) – The Texas Department of Transportation announced today a total closure of I-45 mainlines and frontage roads at Vauthier Street for the demolition of the Vauthier Overpass as part of the IH-45 freeway improvement project. Citizens of La Marque and visitors to our region should expect traffic delays and detours.
Detour routes for southbound traffic will be utilizing the Vauthier Street loop roads. Head south on the frontage road, perform a right turn on Vauthier Street, proceed as outlined by detour sign. After two left turns, drivers can proceed up to I-45.
Northbound traffic will utilize Highway 3. Detour by heading north on the frontage road, perform a right tun on FM 519 (Main Street). Proceed to SH-3 and perform a left turn. Proceed to FM 1765 (Texas Avenue) and turn left. Proceed to I-45.
City of La Marque officials are working with TxDOT on a group of graphics and maps. As they become available, they will be posted at 45.cityoflamarque.org and shared on social media.
